Bending radius
20.4.2011
We would like you to avoid potential problems with bending sheets of aluminium alloy. For this process it is necessary to follow recommended bend radius according standard ČSN EN 485-2.
What specifically does it mean?
For each thickness there is recommended different bend radius. If the radius is followed the material should not crack at bending.
However, not even the norm can guarantee this.
Example:
Sheet of thickness 2.0mm, for bending 90 degrees the recommended bending radius is 1,5T.
T=thickness of material. 1,5x2=3mm. This results that recommended bend radius is 3mm.
